Why kayaking in Tabarca with us?
Tabarca is the only inhabited island in the Valencian Community and the first marine reserve in Spain. It has been since 1986 without fishing pressure, which translates into oceanic posidonia, groupers, bream and visibility that exceeds 10 meters on calm days. Seeing this from a kayak with a glass bottom, without getting wet, is something that has no equivalent on the coast of Alicante.
Two things differentiate us from the rest of the providers: we have our own premises on the island, so we leave from Tabarca and not from Santa Pola, and we use kayaks with transparent hull underwater vision. No other operator in Tabarca offers both at the same time.
What is included in your kayak rental in Tabarca?
Your reservation includes everything you need to go paddling without having to carry anything:
- Double kayak with underwater vision (transparent hull to see the seabed while paddling)
- Double paddle and approved life vest
- Technical briefing before going out, so that you know how to paddle even if it’s your first time.
- Access to the coves and caves area of the marine reserve.

Enhance your experience with the kayak + snorkel package
If you want to make the most of the trip, you can add snorkeling equipment to your reservation for 10€/person. After paddling between the coves, you stop in the area with the best seabed of the marine reserve, you equip yourself with goggles and snorkel and you get into the water to see closely the schools of fish, the posidonia meadows and the underwater ecosystem that you already sensed from the transparent kayak. It is the most complete combination to live Tabarca from the water.

Who is kayaking in Tabarca for?
For anyone with no previous experience. The sit-on-top double kayak is very stable and the briefing covers everything you need to know to go out safely. It is a perfect activity for couples, groups of friends and families with children from about 8 years old. You don’t need to be an advanced swimmer, although a life jacket is compulsory throughout the activity.
If it is your first time kayaking and you have doubts about what the experience is like, the one hour activity is more than enough time to learn, enjoy and come back wanting to repeat.

Do I need previous experience?
No. Before we go out we explain the basic technique and our kayaks are very stable. Most of our clients paddle with us for the first time.
Where does the activity come from?
From our premises on the island of Tabarca, not from Santa Pola. You arrive by boat and we take care of the rest.
How to get to the island of Tabarca?
Tabarca is 9 kilometers from Santa Pola and about 22 from Alicante. The options are: Tabarqueras daily ferry from Santa Pola (30 minutes, the fastest and cheapest), tourist catamaran from the port of Alicante (about 1 hour) and seasonal departures by tourist boat from Torrevieja or Benidorm. Once in Tabarca, we will tell you the exact location of our premises when you confirm your reservation.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the sea conditions are not safe, we will cancel the trip and refund your money or reschedule the date free of charge.
Is there a minimum age?
We recommend ages 8 and up. Children always go in a double kayak accompanied by an adult.
