Why kayaking in Tabarca with us?
Tabarca is the only inhabited island in the Valencian Community and the first marine reserve in Spain. That means crystal clear waters, abundant marine fauna and protected areas that can only be seen from the water. What makes us different are two things: we have our own place on the island, so if you arrive by boat you get into the kayak directly in Tabarca and take advantage of all the time paddling between coves and caves; and our kayak with underwater vision has a transparent hull, so you can see the seabed while paddling without the need to dive. It is the combination that no other provider offers you.
What is included in your kayak rental in Tabarca?
Your reservation includes everything you need to go paddling without having to carry anything:
- Double kayak with underwater vision (transparent hull to see the seabed while paddling)
- Double paddle and approved life vest
- Technical briefing before going out, so that you know how to paddle even if it’s your first time.
- Access to the coves and caves area of the marine reserve.
Duration: 1 hour activity guided by an experienced paddler.

Enhance your experience with the snorkel pack
If you want to make the most of the trip, you can add snorkeling equipment to your reservation for 10€/person. After paddling between the coves, you stop in the area with the best seabed of the marine reserve, you equip yourself with goggles and snorkel and you get into the water to see closely the schools of fish, the posidonia meadows and the underwater ecosystem that you already sensed from the transparent kayak. It is the most complete combination to live Tabarca from the water.

An easy activity for beginners and families
You don’t need previous experience. The double kayak with underwater vision is very stable: wide, low and designed to make capsizing almost impossible in calm waters like those of Tabarca. Our guides explain the basic paddling technique before leaving and accompany you throughout the route.
It is the ideal activity for couples, families with children from 8 years old and groups of friends who want a different plan that is not just beach and eat in Tabarca.
Frequently asked questions about kayaking in Tabarca
Do I need previous experience?
No. Before we go out we explain the basic technique and our kayaks are very stable. Most of our clients paddle with us for the first time.
Where does the activity come from?
From our premises on the island of Tabarca, not from Santa Pola. You arrive by boat and we take care of the rest.
How to get to the island of Tabarca?
Tabarca is 9 kilometers from Santa Pola and about 22 from Alicante. The options are: Tabarqueras daily ferry from Santa Pola (30 minutes, the fastest and cheapest), tourist catamaran from the port of Alicante (about 1 hour) and seasonal departures by tourist boat from Torrevieja or Benidorm. Once in Tabarca, we will tell you the exact location of our premises when you confirm your reservation.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the sea conditions are not safe, we will cancel the trip and refund your money or reschedule the date free of charge.
Is there a minimum age?
We recommend ages 8 and up. Children always go in a double kayak accompanied by an adult.
